Mission Partners

The Mission Ministry of Central Presbyterian Church (CPC) is divided into two programs: Mission Partners and the Neighbors Program.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a program that CPC coordinates internally, specifically to assist our unhoused neighbors.

Mission Partners are non-profit organizations that CPC partners with in order to further their missions. We raise funds and build awareness of the important work these partners accomplish.

These two groups of programs are at the heart of CPC. We cannot live out the Christian message without reaching out to others. Please take a look, find out more, get involved, and be part of these wonderful projects.

Mission Partners

Manos de Cristo

Manos de Cristo strives to be the Hands of Christ for Austinites in need. This Presbyterian ministry offers much-needed services to the indigent and to low-income families, including a dental clinic, food pantry, clothes closet, citizenship classes, ESL classes, tutors/mentors, and pastoral care. Manos de Cristo serves more than 20,000 people each year. Central Presbyterian provides financial support and non-perishable food monthly to the food pantry. Food on the First – Central collects non-perishable food on the first Sunday of the month for delivery to Manos de Cristos.

Interfaith Action Central Texas

iACT brings people of all faiths together to connect with one another through dialogue and service to the needy in the Greater Austin area. Central Presbyterian provides financial and volunteer support and is an official faith community member.

Crop Walk

Crop Walk feeds hungry people around the block and around the world. The donations are given to Church World Service for worldwide hunger relief, and a portion is retained in Austin for a selected agency. Central Presbyterian registers a team annually, and participating walkers are supported by pledged gifts from the congregation and beyond.

Rev. Kay Day, Former Mission Partner in Rwanda

Our wonderful missionary in Rwanda, Kay Day, has retired from her work with PC(USA) as of September 17, 2020. Kay was a faithful missionary whom we at CPC supported for more than 14 years, first in Malawi and later in Rwanda. We are so grateful to God for Kay’s devoted work in Africa!
