What’s more fun than waking up early Sunday morning and learning about love? Nothing! Sunday school classes for all ages are held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Come join us for Bible stories, arts & crafts activities, songs, and learning more about God’s love in a diverse Christian community!

ELEMENTARY

Elementary classes are offered for children Pre-K (4 years old) through 5th grade. They follow an innovative, biblically-based curriculum. Through storytelling, art, music, and games, children have the opportunity to explore stories from both the Old and New Testaments, as well as make new friends and grow in their faith. Children in the Elementary classes are offered a light snack between Sunday school and worship.

All children aged 5 to 11 are encouraged to participate in our fantastic Children’s Choir led by Christina Flores! They do such a fine job of making a joyful noise – join them!

JUNIOR & SENIOR HIGH

Central Presbyterian offers two youth Sunday school classes. The junior high class is for 6th through 8th graders and meets downstairs in the junior high room. The senior high class is for 9th through 12th graders and meets upstairs in the youth room. Both classes use a biblically-based curriculum. They discuss Bible verses and stories and how those might relate to our world today. With projects and activities that help shape their growing faith, our youth Sunday school class participants are poised to be the next generation of Christian leaders.

CPC Youth Fellowship

Central Presbyterian’s Youth Fellowship is a dynamic, fun-filled environment where junior and senior high youth can come together to explore their faith and the world around them.

Youth Fellowship meets the first, second, and third Sunday of each month during the school year, from after worship until 2:30 p.m. Lunch is provided. Any youth from 6th through 12th grade is welcome to participate.

Youth perform service projects for the church & wider community, participate in camps & conferences, hold an annual Lock-In, volunteer for the South by Southwest Music Conference, and lead the entire congregation in worship at least once a year. Currently, they are planning and fundraising for their summer 2013 mission trip to the Gulf coast. They are a lively, lovely, diverse group and would welcome anyone who wanted to learn more about being a young person in the church.

When asked what she liked about Youth Fellowship, one youth replied, “Our youth are the best! We’re more awesome than Antonio Banderas!” We think that says it all…

At Central Presbyterian, we strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment where your child can draw closer to God. Our trained, professional child care staff works to ensure that your child will have the best possible experience in our nursery. Child care is provided from 9:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. (Sunday school time through worship time) for all children, infants through 2nd grade.

Please note: All infants and children are more than welcome to stay in the sanctuary during worship, too. For more information, see our Children in Worship brochure

Check-In & Pick-Up on Sundays

When you arrive in the children’s wing, one of our staff will greet you at the Welcome Desk. Your child will be given a wristband, and you will be given the tear-off portion that matches the wristband number. You must have this tear-off portion to re-enter the children's area, whether you are checking on your child or picking them up after worship service. Your portion will be matched to the number on your child's wristband when you pick them up. If you lose this tag, a pastor or our Christian Education Director must accompany you to your child to verify that they came with you. Children are not allowed to leave the children’s area without you, so please make arrangements to pick them up immediately following worship service. Of course, you are welcome to drop by the nursery and children’s are at any time and speak with our staff, Childcare Supervisor, or Christian Education director. We welcome the opportunity to serve the littlest members of the body of Christ!

Child Care During the Week

We like to make it easy for adults with children to attend our gatherings! Child care is almost always available for church-sponsored activities during the week, including our Wednesday night programs, choir practice, Team Meeting nights, and weekday worship services. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you need to bring the kids – our child care staff is here for you! Learn more about them on our staff page!
