Lectionary Studies

April 23 – May 14

In this four-week class, we will journey together through the Scripture readings prescribed by the Revised Common Lectionary for the second through fifth Sundays of Easter. Featured texts include Acts of the Apostles, 1 Peter, and Psalms, and when possible, we will focus our attention in depth on the texts selected by the CPC preacher for a given Sunday. In addition to introducing those gathered to the worlds behind each text, the class invites members to ask several questions of the text. What assumptions are at play? Where can we identify parallels with contemporary society and church? How might we preach this text? Please join us as we consider God’s Word as a community of interpreters!
