Facilities Available for the Ceremony

The sanctuary is used for the rehearsal and ceremony. A bride’s room (with a bathroom) is available upstairs by the back balcony. The groom and his attendants usually meet in the library outside the sanctuary.

The following are also available:

A wooden pedestal that may be used for a central flower arrangement (approximately 48″ tall).
2 gray pedestals that may be used for side flower arrangements (approximately 28″ tall)
2 kneeling benches, which may be placed side by side or facing each other in front of the communion table.


If an organist is desired, please contact CPC’s organist, , to check his availability. He has the right of first refusal, but if you have a close friend or relative who is an organist, that’s usually fine. If a guest organist is playing, there is a $50 fee for Nathan to consult with your organist about some special treatment our organ requires.

Music is one of the most significant factors in establishing the proper environment for meaningful worship. Music for the marriage service directs attention to God and expresses the faith of the church, but may be selected from different styles. Music of a personal romantic nature is better suited to reception or rehearsal dinner. If you have any questions, please contact our head wedding director, who will consult with our pastors regarding your selection.

Prerecorded music is acceptable, but you must have the music on a device with a 1/8-inch input (iPod, iPad, etc.) and you must provide someone to operate the device during the rehearsal and the service.


Smoot Fellowship Hall is available for receptions for a fee. Tables and chairs are included:

16 round tables, 54″ in diameter, that comfortably seat 6-7 people each. (We do not provide tablecloths.)
96 black plastic chairs
4 rectangular tables, 72″ by 30″
No alcoholic beverages are permitted anywhere on the premises. No smoking is permitted in the church building.

Your caterer is responsible for kitchen cleanup.


A nursery may be available with prior approval. You are responsible for hiring your own babysitter(s), and the nursery must be left in the same or better condition than it was beforehand. CPC has no liability for your babysitters. If you wish to use the nursery, please let us know at least one month before the ceremony.


If you wish to provide parking for your guests, please estimate how many spaces you will need, and let the wedding director know at least three weeks before the ceremony at the latest. There are two parking options, which our wedding director can discuss in more detail:

St. David’s Episcopal Church garage (entrance on Trinity St. between 7th and 8th Sts.)
Fee: $2-5. There may be some days when it is not available.

Parking garage next door to CPC (at the corner of 8th & San Jacinto Sts.)
Fee: $4 if tickets bought in advance; $7 otherwise.

Central Presbyterian Church assumes no liability for you, your guests, or personal belongings. It is always a good idea to take out event insurance. The church office, which is locked during church services, is available for securing valuables – but again, CPC is not liable in the event of loss.
