Sunday Parking

  • St. David’s Episcopal Church graciously allows us use of their parking garage on Sunday mornings. The St. David’s garage is located at the SW corner of 8th and Trinity, one block east of Central Presbyterian Church. The entrance is on Trinity (one-way northbound) between 7th and 8th.
  • Surface lot – The elderly, individuals with mobility impairments, families with infants, and visitors may park free of charge most Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings in the surface lot just behind (north of) the church, across the alley, by kind courtesy of the Vaughn Building. The entrance to this lot is located on 9th Street between Brazos and San Jacinto Streets. There is a chance this lot will charge for parking, particularly when there is a special event downtown.
  • On-street parking is free all day on Sundays and after 6:00 pm Mon+Tue. There are often spaces available, especially 1-2 blocks east of the church on 8th St.  Public Parking information is also available from the Downtown Austin Alliance.

General Parking

  • On-street parking is free all day on Sundays and after 6:00 pm Mon+Tue. There are often spaces available, especially 1-2 blocks east of the church on 8th St.  Public Parking information is also available from the Downtown Austin Alliance.
  • Free 2 hours: The Capitol Visitors’ parking garage on 12th St between San Jacinto and Trinity offers free parking, up to two hours.
  • Paid parking: There is almost always parking for a fee in one of the lots which are 2 blocks east of CPC (towards I-35). On-street metered parking is often available on Trinity St. Parking garages near CPC include the Omni Hotel (on 8th, across from CPC), First Baptist Church (Trinity St, between 8th and 9th streets), and St David’s; their standard rates apply.

Accessibility

People with mobility impairments can enter the front door of the church using the sidewalk ramps. Another option is to enter the church through the Brazos Street door and use the elevator just down the hall. The sanctuary is on level 2. They may also enter from the alley just behind/north of the church (between San Jacinto and Brazos), go through Smoot Fellowship Hall, out the south door toward 8th Street, and up the sidewalk ramp to the front entrance of the sanctuary. A wheelchair-accessible bathroom is located adjacent to Smoot Fellowship Hall, underneath the stairs.
