Pride Celebration on August 10th

CPC will celebrate at Austin’s Pride Festival on Saturday, August 10th! We are partnering with First Church Austin to have a booth at the Festival and will be marching in the parade.

Austin Pride Week takes place each year in August and hosts a week-long series of events and parties culminating in a major parade. Over 120+ entries, floats, special live performances will participate in the event that kicks off at 8pm and runs until 11 pm. For more info, visit: https://austinpride.org/pride-2024/

Happy Pride Month!

Each week in worship, we will celebrate the many gifts that members of the LGBTQ+ community bring to us. We hope you will join us as we learn to be better allies and advocates for social justice.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Join us on Sunday for our May Sermon Series: Mental Notes for an Inspired Life. Worship services will focus on the intersection between spiritual and emotional health.

“Mental Health Awareness Month is an opportunity for all of us to remember the inherent value we each hold — no matter our diagnosis, appearance, socioeconomic status, background or ability.

“We want every person out there to know that if all you did was wake up today, that’s more than enough. No matter what, you are inherently worthy of more than enough life, love and healing. Showing up, just as you are, for yourself and the people around you is more than enough.” – National Alliance on Mental Illness

Amanda Tyler speaks at CPC

On April 16th, we were blessed by Amanda Tyler’s powerful sermon during worship and her presentation afterward. If you missed it, you can watch both at these links: SERMON LINK and  PRESENTATION LINK. Her inspiring and informative message calls Christians to preserve the integrity of faith by upholding the separation of church and state.
Amanda is the Executive Director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, BJC, and organizer of BJC’s Christians Against Christian Nationalism  campaign and co-host of BJC’s Respecting Religion podcast.

Welcome Robyn Greer

Our New Coordinator for Children and Youth Ministry!

Robyn comes to us with a wealth of experience working with children and youth. Her love for teaching began when her now 12-year old-daughter was a baby. She happened to walk into a YMCA one day and left with a job coordinating activities for elementary students. Robyn’s love for teaching eventually led her to the Austin Discovery School. There she served as a teacher in the after school program and as a permanent substitute. Robyn writes, “Ensuring an experience which uplifts others in every way is a ministry that I carry anywhere in my life, and I am excited for the opportunity to share my gifts at Central Presbyterian Church of Austin.”
