Giving
“Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” ~ 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
For generations, God’s spirit of courage and love has flowed through Central Presbyterian Church (CPC). Wherever you happen to be on your faith journey – completely lost or confidently stepping out – we are grateful to have you as part of our community. You are not alone. CPC is grateful for your devotion, your time, and your financial support.

Pastor’s Discretionary Fund
The Pastor’s Discretionary Fund allows our ministers to assist members of our community and other needs as they arise.
Neighbors Program (including Central Mission)
Donations to the Neighbors Program are used to purchase coffee, hygiene supplies, bus passes and other items for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, as well as the administrative, or indirect costs of operating Central Mission.
Special Offerings
Through Special Offerings, we are faithfully working to inspire, equip and connect all Presbyterians to do Christ’s mission, bringing together congregations, worshiping communities, mid councils, mission networks, and other parts of the church ecosystem as they nurture and shape disciples and serve Christ in the world. CPC conducts several different special offering campaigns throughout the year.
Stewardship
We are each stewards of our church community. Each fall we ask the CPC community to make a pledge for the following year to give of their financial resources to support the work and ministries of the church. Annual pledged gifts provide church leaders with clear information for use when planning the budget for the following year’s church ministries. Our church budget is made up of members’ and friends’ annual pledges, and informs all of our primary expenditures. These include (but are not limited to) staff salaries and compensation, building maintenance, music and worship activities, youth programs, and our local, state, national and international mission partnerships. Pledged gifts to the church are our primary source of income and are critical in helping us to be the church we strive to be together.
How to Make Your Commitment
- Begin with Prayer. Thank God for your blessings and ask for guidance and discernment as you consider your financial commitment as well as your time and talents.
- Set your giving goal and commitment. Think about your current financial giving and how you may be able to increase that amount. Think about the time and talents you can dedicate to supporting Central as we are the church together.
- Make a financial pledge. Pledges enable church leadership to plan for supporting our ministries. You can make your financial pledge using the form at the bottom of this page or mail your pledge information to: Bookkeeper, Central Presbyterian Church, 200 E. 8th Street, Austin, TX 78701.
- All our giving options are listed above. Place your offering in the collection during worship if you prefer.
Thank you for your Support!
There has never been a time in the long history of our awesome church that the stakes have been so high. We must all come together as never before if we want to save the Sanctuary and the church itself. We are working daily to explore viable options to remain on our site and to generate sufficient revenue from a partnership with another church or a sale of part of our property to ensure that our important work and our worship will continue.
Your pledge will help make the difference, not only for our viability as community of faith but also in the lives of our neighbors in downtown Austin, the children of our congregation whose lives will be shaped as they grow in that faith, and for the rest of us who depend on Central Presbyterian Church for inspiration, fellowship, emotional support and the opportunity to serve others.
As Christians we recognize that everything we have comes from God and that we are privileged and fulfilled to be stewards of these gifts in ways that witness to the love and grace we have been given. It is through the contribution of our time, talent and financial resources that we express our love for God, for each other and for our neighbors and that together we embrace a Future with Hope.
