Advocating for Neighbors

In addition to operating Central Mission which addresses immediate basic needs of our unhoused neighbors, the Neighbors Program participates in local and statewide advocacy to encourage positive change and solutions that address homelessness. We have written these policy proposals and are advocating with community organizations and city leaders to gain more resources for our unhoused neighbors.   We do this by:

-Advocating for shelter, housing and mental healthcare with the City, State, and other organizations.

-Leading the Homeless Advocacy Project meetings to bring together churches, nonprofits and other agencies to share resources and spread awareness about the needs and gaps in the system.

-Providing opportunities for our unhoused neighbors to have a voice in advocacy and participate in activities along with us.
